​Hong Kong swimming athlete Siobhan Bernadette Haughey today (July 29, Paris time) won the bronze medal in the Women's 200m Freestyle event for Hong Kong at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. This is the second medal won by the Hong Kong, China Delegation at these Olympic Games. The Chief Executive, Mr John Lee, expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Haughey and her coach.
"Siobhan demonstrated superb skills and performed at her best in the competition. She showcased her power and strength as an elite athlete and achieved an outstanding result again of capturing a bronze medal, after winning two silver medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. All Hong Kong people and I are glad and proud of her great performance," Mr Lee said.
Haughey has achieved outstanding results in recent years. She won the gold medal in the Women's 100m and 200m Freestyle events at the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou, and also the silver medal in the same events at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
