Caritas Medical Centre announces passing away of COVID-19 patient

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     The spokesperson for the Caritas Medical Centre (CMC) today (September 12) announced that a patient confirmed with COVID-19 passed away this morning.

     A 67-year-old male patient (case number: 4300), with chronic illness, was admitted to CMC on August 11 due to fever and pneumonia, and was later tested positive for COVID-19. After treatment, the patient's condition improved and antibody was tested positive for COVID-19. His condition continued to deteriorate due to terminal cancer subsequently and he eventually succumbed at 6.25am this morning.

     Including the above patient, 99 COVID-19 patients have passed away in public hospitals so far.
