The exercise for the nomination of representatives of arts interests for the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) has entered the final stage of electioneering. To enable voters to learn more about the candidates standing in this nomination exercise, a forum will be held for candidates. Fourteen candidates from the seven contested arts interests, namely Arts Education, Drama, Film Arts, Literary Arts, Music, Visual Arts and Chinese Opera (Xiqu), standing for nomination will participate in the forum. Interested parties are welcome to attend.
​The candidate forum will be held from 1pm to 5.20pm this Saturday (October 5) at Mong Kok Community Hall, L2, Mong Kok Complex, 557 Shanghai Street, Mong Kok. The candidate forum will be held according to the following schedule:
1pm to 1.30pm Chinese Opera (Xiqu)
1.35pm to 2.05pm Visual Arts
2.10pm to 2.40pm Arts Education
2.45pm to 3.15pm Film Arts
3.20pm to 3.50pm Literary Arts
3.55pm to 4.35pm Drama
4.40pm to 5.20pm Music

* Ricky Ho Yat-ming, candidate of Chinese Opera (Xiqu), and Maggie Chang Cheuk-yin, candidate of Music, will not attend the forum.
Each session of the forum will include presentation of candidate platforms and candidates answering questions from the floor. Aside from the session for Chinese Opera (Xiqu), sessions will also include debate among the candidates of the same arts interest.
Polling is scheduled for October 20 and 21. Cross-arts interest voting will continue to be adopted this year. Voters from the 10 arts interests may cast votes for candidates standing for nomination in each of the seven contested arts interests. A list of the nominated representatives will be submitted to the Chief Executive for consideration of appointment to the HKADC for the next term beginning on January 1, 2020.
