Buildings Department building surveyor preliminarily tests positive for COVID-19
The Buildings Department (BD) today (December 17) announced that a building surveyor was notified of preliminary positive test result for COVID-19 last night (December 16).
The building surveyor works on 7/F, 14 Taikoo Wan Road, Taikoo Shing, Hong Kong, and she is responsible for processing building plans and related work. The concerned office is not open to the public. She is a close contact of a confirmed case. The last time the building surveyor went to work was December 11, and she had been wearing masks when performing duties and maintaining proper social distancing with people she was in contact with. Her body temperature was normal when undergoing temperature screening during work.
The offices on 7/F to 9/F of 14 Taikoo Wan Road, Taikoo Shing, will be closed this afternoon for a thorough cleaning and disinfection, and will reopen tomorrow (December 18). The receipt and dispatch counter on 7/F will also be closed from 1pm today and will reopen at 9.30am tomorrow. Individuals who have appointments with BD staff or have been arranged to collect processed plans and documents during the affected period will be notified of the latest arrangements later.
The BD has strictly adopted relevant hygienic measures for infectious diseases provided by the Centre for Health Protection (CHP). All staff are reminded to strictly comply with the anti-epidemic measures, pay attention to personal hygiene, and consult a doctor and notify the department promptly if they develop any symptoms.
The BD will continue to maintain close communication with the CHP and co-operate with its anti-epidemic measures and quarantine work.
