â€‹A member of the Auxiliary Medical Service (AMS) has preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19 today (February 9).

The member worked in Dorsett Kwun Tong hotel quarantine centre and Penny's Bay Quarantine Centre on February 7 morning and February 8 afternoon respectively.  She undertook support duties. She wore full personal protective equipment and strictly followed infection control measures while performing duties.

In consideration of public health and hygiene, the AMS has immediately arranged thorough cleaning and disinfection of the areas where the member stayed. In addition, all of the personnel who were on duty at aforementioned quarantine centres on that day have already undergone testing. At this stage, no one has been identified as close contacts. The AMS will continue to maintain close liaison with the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) and actively co-operate with the CHP's quarantine arrangements.

During the pandemic, the AMS has been strictly implementing various disease prevention measures, including requiring personnel to wear face masks when in contact with others and at public places, maintaining social distancing and stepping up cleaning and disinfection. The AMS has reminded all staff to redouble the efforts to observe personal hygiene.
