Milyen szerepet tölthet be a kultúra Európa jövőjében?
Dél-dunántúli, pécsi diákok arra készülnek, hogy elmondják a véleményüket Brüsszelben

Február 2-án 9 és 13 óra között a Dél-Dunántúlon fekvő Pécsi Apáczai Csere János Általános Iskola, Gimnázium, Kollégium fogadja dr. KÁLLAY Piroskát, az Európai Gazdasági és Szociális Bizottság tagját, hogy közösen felkészüljenek a „Your Europe, Your Say” (YEYS) elnevezésű ifjúsági közgyűlésre, melyet 2018. március 15–16-án rendeznek meg Brüsszelben.

Európa minden részéről – 28 tagállamból és öt tagjelölt országból – harminchárom iskola diákjai érkeznek Brüsszelbe, hogy elmondják az európai intézményeknek, hogy véleményük szerint milyen szerep jut a kultúrának Európa jövőjében. Közös ötletbörzét tartanak majd, vitáznak, illetve szavaznak három olyan javaslatról, amelyet uniós intézmények beemelnek majd politikai munkájukba.

Dr. KÁLLAY Piroska a márciusi találkozó előtt segíti majd a diákokat abban, hogy válaszokat találjanak néhány fontos, az európai kultúra jövőjével kapcsolatosan felmerülő kérdésre:

• Mi az európai kultúra: csupán a nemzeti hagyományok összessége, vagy léteznek olyan közös értékek, amelyek mindannyiunkat európaivá tesznek?
• Milyen szerepet tölt be a kultúra, illetve a kulturális cserekapcsolatok a diákok életében?
• Mit tehet az Európai Unió a kultúra (mozi, zene, tánc, irodalom, színház stb.) előmozdítása és a kulturális örökségi helyszínek hatékonyabb védelme érdekében?
• Milyen szerepet játszhat a kultúra az európai régiók és városok gazdasági újjászületésében?
• Milyen új lehetőségeket tud ez a fellendülés kínálni a fiatalok számára a munkahelyteremtés terén?

A „Your Europe, Your Say!” (YEYS – A Te Európád, a Te szavad!) elnevezésű programot a civil társadalom európai szintű képviselőjének számító Európai Gazdasági és Szociális Bizottság (EGSZB) szervezi. A YEYS egyébként az EGSZB kiemelt ifjúsági rendezvénye. Ezzel a kezdeményezéssel az EGSZB arra törekszik, hogy a fiatalabb nemzedék nézetei, tapasztalatai és ötletei is figyelmet kapjanak az uniós döntéshozatalban.

Dr. KÁLLAY Piroska 2015 óta az EGSZB tagja, és aktívan közreműködik a Munkavállalók csoportjában.

The UK’s surveillance regime has once again been declared unlawful by the courts.

“The assistance we are announcing today will reach those affected by the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan, both within the country and across the region, many of whom face of extremely dire conditions. The EU’s commitment to the Afghan people remains unwavering. Incidents such as last week’s attack on a humanitarian organisation take innocent lives and threaten lifesaving support to those most in need. It’s fundamental that international humanitarian law is respected.” said Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Christos Stylianides.

The European Commission will provide €27 million for lifesaving supplies to the most vulnerable populations in Afghanistan who are bearing the consequences of the conflict. The assistance will cover areas such as emergency trauma care, food, water and sanitation, shelter and protection to newly displaced people. Vulnerable Afghans in Pakistan will benefit from funding of €5.5 million, which will primarily help Afghan refugees and those affected by food insecurity and malnutrition as a result of natural disasters. A further €5 million will support Afghan refugees in Iran and provide food assistance, shelter, health, protection, as well as education for vulnerable Afghan children.

Background

The European Commission has provided humanitarian assistance to the countries in the region since the 1990s. Funds are allocated strictly on the basis of the humanitarian principles of independence, impartiality and neutrality to ensure access to all those in need.

Since 1994, the EU has allocated almost €1.4 billion in humanitarian aid to the region in addition to EU development assistance. The EU’s humanitarian support has addressed the most pressing needs of vulnerable populations affected by the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan and its consequences in neighbouring countries, as well as improving local capacities to prevent and respond to the effects of natural disasters and climate change.
