The Prime Minister, ShriNarendraModi, today attended the Ground Breaking Ceremony of Navi Mumbai International Airport. At a function in Navi Mumbai, he also dedicated the fourth container terminal at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust.

TRIPURA POLLING – 74% voting till 4pm

Polling was held today for General Elections to Legislative Assembly of Tripura. The day passed off peacefully in 59 Constituencies out of 60 Constituencies of the State. Poll of one of the Constituency i.e. 19- Charilam (ST) AC will be held on 12th March, 2018 owing to death of one candidate.

Hong Kong Customs seizes suspected methamphetamine (with photo)

     Hong Kong Customs yesterday (February 17) seized about 1.5 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine with an estimated market value of about $670,000 at Hong Kong International Airport.

     A female passenger arrived in Hong Kong from Nigeria via Ethiopia yesterday afternoon. Upon examination of her check-in suitcase, Customs officers found the suspected methamphetamine inside the false compartment of the suitcase. The woman was then arrested.

     The arrested woman, aged 31, has been charged with one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug. She will appear at Kowloon City Magistrates’ Courts tomorrow (February 19).

     Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty upon conviction is a fine of $5 million and life imprisonment.
