Police conduct dispersal operation in Whampoa

     Starting from the evening, rioters have been blocking roads and inflicting extensive damages to the Whampoa area. Some rioters assaulted a passer-by near Man Tai Street, endangering public safety and order.

     While Police officers were handling the case at scene, rioters hurled bricks at them, seriously threatening the personal safety of Police officers and other members of the public thereat. Police officers had no other alternatives but deployed the minimum necessary force, including tear gas, to conduct dispersal operation.

     Police appeal to members of the public to avoid travelling to the areas concerned. Residents in the area are advised to stay tuned to the latest announcements, stay indoors, and keep their windows shut, if necessary.

Masked rioters block roads and damage shops in Whampoa

     At around 8pm today (December 1), masked rioters recklessly damaged facilities in Whampoa area. Some masked rioters blocked Hung Hom Road and Tak Man Street with barricades and stormed shops and vandalized facilities inside.

     Police warn all rioters to stop illegal acts. Police will conduct dispersal and arrest action.




Rioters hurl smoke bombs in Tsim Sha Tsui stirring up public fear

     A public order event is held in Tsim Sha Tsui this afternoon (December 1). At around 5pm, hundreds of rioters hurled smoke bombs near Empire Centre, Tsim Sha Tsui, stirring up public fear and causing chaos. In the face of the situation, Police officers had no other alternatives but deployed the minimum necessary force, including tear gas, to stop illegal acts.

     Police condemn the reckless acts of the rioters and warn them to stop all illegal activities.

     Members of the public are advised to avoid travelling to the area. Residents in the vicinity should stay tuned to the latest situation, stay indoors and keep their windows shut, if necessary.
     




Police warn protestors in Tsim Sha Tsui to stop illegal acts

     At 3pm today (December 1), protestors commenced a public procession in Tsim Sha Tsui. According to the agreed arrangement, the protestors would march from the Clock Tower to Hong Kong Coliseum via Salisbury Road.

     As some radical protestors passed by Mody Road Garden via Salisbury Road, they hurled bricks at Police officers. Police officers, in response, deployed the minimum necessary force, including tear gas, to stop their illegal acts.

     Police warn the protestors to stop all illegal acts immediately. Police appeal to members of the public to avoid travelling to the areas concerned. Residents in the area are advised to stay tuned to the latest announcements, stay indoors, and keep their windows shut, if necessary.
