Government to sell site in Tung Chung by public tender

     The Lands Department (LandsD) announced today (February 4) that a site, Tung Chung Town Lot No. 45 at Area 57, Tung Chung, New Territories, in the 2021-22 Land Sale Programme, will be disposed of by public tender. The tender invitation for the lot will commence on February 11 and close on March 25.
      
     Tung Chung Town Lot No. 45 has a site area of about 12,335 square metres and is designated for non-industrial (excluding residential, hotel, godown and petrol filling station) purposes. The minimum gross floor area and the maximum gross floor area are 70,310 sq m and 117,182 sq m respectively.
 
     Land sale documents including the Form of Tender, the Tender Notice, the Conditions of Sale and the sale plan of the lot will be available for downloading from the LandsD website (www.landsd.gov.hk) from February 11, while the sale plan will be available for inspection by the public from the same day until the close of the tender. The particulars of the tender will be gazetted on February 11.




Motor driver of Environmental Protection Department tests positive for COVID-19

     The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) today (February 4) said that a motor driver has tested positive for COVID-19. He is staying at a hospital for treatment.

     The staff member concerned is stationed at Southorn Centre in Wan Chai and is responsible for driving duties. He does not need to have contact with the public and had no recent travel history. He wore masks and followed relevant disease prevention measures at work. He last performed duties on January 28. The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) is following up on the case.

     The EPD has conducted thorough cleaning and sterilisation on the floor concerned in accordance with the CHP's advice, and is arranging for all staff members working on the same floor to undergo COVID-19 testing.

     The EPD has been strictly implementing disease prevention measures during the epidemic and will continue to maintain close liaison with the CHP. Staff members are reminded to pay attention to personal hygiene and to stay vigilant. They should seek medical advice immediately if feeling unwell.




Latest arrangements for PlanD public services

     In view of the latest epidemic situation and the Government's announcement on the special work arrangements for government employees and suspension of non-essential public services, the Planning Department (PlanD) announced today (February 4) that the department will adjust its public services starting from February 7 (Monday) until further notice.

     The Planning Enquiry Counter (PEC) on the 17th floor of North Point Government Offices (NPGO) will continue to make available documents required under the Town Planning Ordinance for public inspection, while other counter services will be suspended. Meanwhile, the PEC on the 14th floor of Sha Tin Government Offices will continue to be temporarily closed and no public services will be provided.

     In view of the need to reduce flows of people and social contact, visitors are encouraged to make appointments before visiting the PEC to facilitate control of the number of visitors at any one time. Members of the public can visit the PlanD's website (www.pland.gov.hk) for general planning information and make enquiries through the telephone hotline (2231 5000) or email (enquire@pland.gov.hk).

     District Planning Offices of the PlanD will suspend routine fieldwork, including posting of site notices for planning applications. No site notices will be posted for planning applications published during this period. Notices of planning applications will continue to be published in the prescribed newspapers and posted on the Town Planning Board (TPB)'s website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb). Members of the public are invited to pay attention to such notices in the newspapers and on the TPB's website.

     Meanwhile, the receipt and dispatch counter of the department on the 18th floor of NPGO will continue to maintain basic services during office hours (9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday).

     The City Gallery will continue to be temporarily closed until further notice. Members of the public are welcome to visit the City Gallery's website (www.citygallery.gov.hk) to browse and join the online exhibitions and activities.

OGCIO to suspend temporarily “iAM Smart” mobile registration team services

     In view of the latest developments of the epidemic, the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer announced today (February 4) that starting from tomorrow (February 5), the "iAM Smart" mobile registration team services at the 12 Community Vaccination Centres will be temporarily suspended until further notice.
      
     Members of the public may continue to register for "iAM Smart" with a few simple steps using the "iAM Smart" mobile app downloaded from the app stores. They may also visit the "iAM Smart" self-registration kiosks set up at various locations throughout Hong Kong or visit the registration service counters located at any of the post offices (except mobile post offices) to directly register for "iAM Smart+" which comes with a digital signing function. Information about the registration services is available on the "iAM Smart" thematic website (www.iamsmart.gov.hk/en/reg_location.html).
