     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (August 25) that due to urgent clearance work after the typhoon, all facilities at Jordan Valley Swimming Pool and the outdoor facilities at Kwun Tong Swimming Pool in Kwun Tong District have been temporarily closed. They will be reopened at 1pm today.




Lifesaving services suspended at Hap Mun Bay Beach and Trio Beach

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (August 25) that as lifeguards are unable to go to Hap Mun Bay Beach and Trio Beach in Sai Kung District by ferries due to rough sea conditions, lifesaving services at these beaches have been suspended until further notice. Beachgoers are advised not to swim at these beaches.




Arrangements for inspection of provisional registers of electors/voters and omissions lists and lodging claims and objections

     The Registration and Electoral Office (REO) announced today (August 25) that, due to Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 earlier, the deadline for inspection of the 2022 provisional registers of electors/voters and omissions lists for geographical constituencies, functional constituencies and Election Committee subsectors, and lodging claims and objections in relation to the provisional registers of electors/voters and omissions lists, which falls on today, is extended by one working day to 6pm tomorrow (August 26).

September 2022 adjustment in ceiling prices for dedicated LPG filling stations

     The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department today (August 25) announced an adjustment to the auto-LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) ceiling prices for dedicated LPG filling stations from September 1 to September 30, 2022, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contracts of the dedicated LPG filling stations.
 
     A department spokesman said that the adjustment on September 1, 2022, reflects the movement of the LPG international price in August 2022. The adjusted auto-LPG ceiling prices for dedicated LPG filling stations will range from $4 to $4.58 per litre, representing a decrease of $0.26 to $0.27 per litre.
 
     The spokesman said that the auto-LPG ceiling prices were adjusted according to a specified pricing formula. The formula comprises two elements – the LPG international price and the LPG operating price. The LPG international price is the LPG international price of the preceding month. The LPG operating price is adjusted on the first day of February every year according to the movement in the Composite Consumer Price Index in the previous year.

     The spokesman said that the details of the LPG international price and the auto-LPG ceiling price of each dedicated LPG filling station have been uploaded to the department website at www.emsd.gov.hk. They are also posted at dedicated LPG filling stations to enable the trades to monitor the price adjustment.
 
     Details of the pricing adjustment mechanism for dedicated LPG filling stations can also be viewed under the "What's New" section of the department website at www.emsd.gov.hk/en/what_s_new/current/index.html.

     The dedicated LPG filling stations at Fung Mat Road in Sheung Wan, Kwai On Road in Kwai Chung and Cheung Yip Street in Kowloon Bay are closed for renovation. For details, please refer to the announcement in the webpage of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department.




Lei Yue Mun Sports Centre to be reopened

     â€‹The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (August 25) that Lei Yue Mun Sports Centre in Kwun Tong District will be reopened at 11.20am today for public use.

     The sports centre was temporarily closed earlier on for use as a temporary shelter operated by a District Office of the Home Affairs Department.
