The Government also set up a new Office of Climate Change and Carbon Neutrality to strengthen co-ordination and promote work such as deep decarbonisation.

Mr Tse said that Hong Kong, China is delighted to host this workshop, which gathers experts and APEC member economies to share their experiences on adopting energy modelling and strengthening collaboration in shaping a greener tomorrow together.

Around 90 experts and delegates from eight APEC member economies and five organisations attended the workshop to share their experiences on the utilisation of energy modelling in forecasting energy consumption and tracking low carbon transition progress, as well as for formatting the energy policies.

He emphasised that combating climate change, which is not only a task for a few economies but an ongoing global mission.
