Human remains buried in 2016 in six public cemeteries to be removed

     An order to remove and dispose of human remains buried in 2016 in six public cemeteries was gazetted today (August 18).
   
     The order was made under section 119A of the Public Health and Municipal Services Ordinance (Cap. 132), which empowers the Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene (DFEH) to direct the removal and disposal of human remains buried in public cemeteries for a period of not less than six years.
   
     According to the order, human remains subject to removal include those buried in 2016 in the coffin sections of Wo Hop Shek Cemetery in Fanling, Cheung Chau Cemetery, Tai O Cemetery and Lai Chi Yuen Cemetery on Lantau; the "T" Section of Sandy Ridge Cemetery and the Government Urn Section of Sandy Ridge Urn Cemetery in Lo Wu.
   
     Persons who wish to arrange for private exhumation and disposal of the human remains should apply in person to the department's Cemeteries and Crematoria Office on the Upper Ground Floor, 6 Cheong Hang Road, Hung Hom, Kowloon, on or before August 30 this year.      Any remains buried in 2016 in the six cemeteries not exhumed as required will be cremated at a government crematorium. The ashes will be buried at Sandy Ridge Urn Cemetery in Lo Wu or other cemeteries as the DFEH may decide.




Results of Pharmacist Registration Examinations June 2023 announced

The following is issued on behalf of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Hong Kong:
 
     The Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Hong Kong announced today (August 18) the results of the Pharmacist Registration Examinations held in June 2023.
                
     There were 35, 62 and 41 candidates sitting for examinations in pharmacy legislation in Hong Kong, pharmacy practice and pharmacology respectively, with corresponding passing rates of 62.86 per cent, 11.29 per cent and 78.05 per cent.
                
     Apart from meeting other requirements prescribed by the Board, any pharmacy graduate outside Hong Kong intending to be registered as a pharmacist in Hong Kong is required to pass the above three subjects.
                
     The Board conducts its Registration Examinations twice a year, normally in June and December.




Red flag hoisted at Clear Water Bay Second Beach

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (August 18) that due to inclement weather, the red flag has been hoisted at Clear Water Bay Second Beach in Sai Kung District. Beachgoers are advised not to swim at the beach.




Proposed road works in surrounding areas of Tai Wai Nullah gazetted

     The Government gazetted today (August 18) the proposed road works for strengthening the connectivity and walkability of the footpath network in the surrounding areas of Tai Wai Nullah.
