Suspension of Immigration Services owing to Tropical Cyclone

Please broadcast the following as soon as possible and repeat it at suitable intervals:

     The Immigration Department announces that when Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above is in force, services at the Immigration Headquarters and all Branch Offices, Registration of Persons Offices and Births, Deaths and Marriage Registries are temporarily suspended.




Cares centres and SWD service units will not open

Please broadcast the following special announcement immediately, and repeat it at frequent intervals:

     "The Social Welfare Department announces that as Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above is now hoisted, all welfare service units of the department, child care centres, centres providing after school care programmes, elderly services centres and day rehabilitation units including sheltered workshops, integrated vocational rehabilitation services centres, integrated vocational training centres and day activity centres will not open to the public. After the No. 8 signal is cancelled, the units will resume normal operation in two hours, if the weather and conditions permit."




Temporary closure of China Ferry Terminal

     The Marine Department has announced that due to tropical cyclone warning signal No.8 issued, the China Ferry Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui has been closed temporarily. 




Temporary closure of Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal

     The Marine Department announces that due to tropical cyclone warning signal No.8 issued, the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal in Sheung Wan has been closed temporarily.

Please broadcast the following message as soon as possible and repeat it at suitable intervals:

     As Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.8 has been issued, the Marine Department reminds vessel owners, masters and persons-in-charge of vessels that they should take precautionary measures immediately and properly secure their vessels at safe locations.

     In case of an accident, a report should be made immediately to the Vessel Traffic Centre at 2233 7801.
