Construction Safety Week Carnival 2018 held successfully

The Development Bureau (DEVB) and the Construction Industry Council (CIC) today (May 27) successfully held the Construction Safety Week Carnival. The Carnival attracted the participation of many practitioners of the construction industry and the public which enabled them to learn about the importance of site safety through a wide range of activities.

The Permanent Secretary for Development (Works), Mr Hon Chi-keung, and the Chairman of CIC's Committee on Construction Safety), Dr Derrick Pang officiated at the kick-off ceremony of the carnival. Construction practitioners and their family members took part in relay competitions to demonstrate the unity of the construction industry in promoting construction safety. Interesting and educational game booths were set up at the carnival to inform construction workers and the public about construction safety.

The DEVB and the CIC jointly organised for the seventh time the Construction Safety Week. Themed as "Partnering for Safety Enhancement", this year's Construction Safety Week aims at uniting the efforts of all stakeholders of the industry to achieving the goal of "zero accident" at construction sites.
