Tenders invited for a licence for two automatic vending machines

     The Government Property Agency is inviting tenders for a three-year licence for the installation and operation of a total of two automatic vending machines on Portions of the Inbound Section and Outbound Section of the Passenger Terminal Building in Lok Ma Chau Control Point, Lok Ma Chau, New Territories, for the sale of non-alcoholic drinks.

     The tender notices were uploaded today (July 27) to the Agency’s website: www.gpa.gov.hk. Tender documents are available for collection at the Government Property Agency, 31/F, Revenue Tower, 5 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, during office hours (8.30am to 5.45pm from Mondays to Fridays). The documents can also be downloaded from the Agency’s website.
      
     Interested tenderers who wish to inspect the site should make a prior appointment with the Government Property Agency by calling 2594 7697 on or before August 3.

     Tenderers must submit their tenders by placing them in the Government Logistics Department Tender Box on the ground floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, before noon on August 23, 2018. Late tenders will not be accepted.

Amendments to road works near Sandy Ridge Cemetery proposed

     The Government gazetted today (July 27) a proposal for further amendments to the road works near Sandy Ridge Cemetery in order to suit the revised location of the proposed crematorium and related facilities.

     Details of the further amendments are set out in the Annex. The second amendment plans and second amendment scheme of the works are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:

     Any person who wishes to object to the proposed further amendments is required to address to the Secretary for Transport and Housing an objection in writing, which can be submitted via the following means:
 

  • By post or by hand to the Transport and Housing Bureau’s drop-in box No. 6 located at the entrance on 2/F, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong. The box is available for use between 8am and 7pm from Monday to Friday (except public holidays);
  • By fax to 2868 4643; or
  • By email to gazettethb@thb.gov.hk.

     A notice of objection should describe the objector’s interest and the manner in which he or she alleges that he or she will be affected by the proposed further amendments. Objectors are requested to provide contact details to facilitate communication. A notice of objection should be delivered to the Secretary for Transport and Housing not later than September 26, 2018. read more

Appointment to Pensions Appeal Panel and Appeal Panel on Government’s Voluntary Contributions under Civil Service Provident Fund Scheme

     The Government announced today (July 27) that the Chief Executive has re-appointed Miss Elaine Chan Wing-yi as a member of the Pensions Appeal Panel (PAP) and the Appeal Panel on Government’s Voluntary Contributions under the Civil Service Provident Fund Scheme (APGVC) for a term of three years with effect from August 4, 2018.

     As a statutory body established under the Pension Benefits Ordinance, the PAP is responsible for advising the Chief Executive on petitions made by civil servants against decisions to cancel, suspend, reduce or refuse to grant pension benefits. On the other hand, the APGVC is an administrative panel set up to tender advice to the Chief Executive on representations made by civil servants against decisions to forfeit or recover their accrued benefits attributable to government voluntary contributions under the Civil Service Provident Fund Scheme.

     Mr Walter Chan Kar-lok is convenor-cum-member, while Mr Henry Wu King-cheong is the other serving member, of the two appeal panels.
