Performance of Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund Awardees Association successfully presented (with photo)

The following is issued on behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund:

The performance of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund Awardees Association ended on a high note yesterday (June 6) at the Theatre of Hong Kong City Hall.

More than 20 scholarship awardees of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund, guest musicians and dance artists thrilled the audience with an array of music and dance works, including chamber music, opera, flamenco dance, ballet and contemporary dance. The performance was followed by a post-performance Meet-the-artist Session hosted by the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Association and an acclaimed percussionist, Dr Lung Heung-wing. The performers exchanged views and discussed their artistic presentation, creative process and ideas, helping the audience to appreciate the performance even more.

With additional funding support from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the Association was established as a charitable organisation in January 2016 by a group of scholarship awardees of the Fund, with the aim of promoting the development of music and dance in Hong Kong. The Association will continue to organise various kinds of activities, including sharing sessions, mentorship programmes and concerts with lecture demonstrations, to raise the public’s awareness of the local arts and nurture the younger generation of local artists.
