Phishing email related to Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia) Limited

     The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) wishes to alert members of the public to a press release issued by Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia) Limited on phishing email, which has been reported to the HKMA. Hyperlink to the press release is available on the HKMA website for ease of reference by members of the public.

     Anyone who has provided his or her personal information to the email concerned or has conducted any financial transactions through the email should contact the bank concerned using the contact information provided in the press release, and report to the Police or contact the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force at 2860 5012.




DH starts accepting applications for Project on Dental Services for Persons with Intellectual Disability

     The Department of Health (DH) today (July 16) launched a three-year Project on Dental Services for Persons with Intellectual Disability, also known as Healthy Teeth Collaboration.
 
     Five non-governmental organisation (NGO) dental clinics participating in the project, namely Christian Family Service Centre Tokwawan Dental Clinic, Haven of Hope S K Yee Hang Hau Clinic, Loving Smiles Special Care Dental Centre, Hong Kong Tuberculosis Association Rusy M Shroff Oral Health Services Limited and TWGHs Ho Yuk Ching Community Dental Clinic, will provide free dental care services including oral check-ups, dental treatments and oral health education to eligible persons.
 
     In addition, the service of the operating theatres of Evangel Hospital, Gleneagles Hong Kong Hospital and Precious Blood Hospital (Caritas) will be engaged if and when required by the dental clinics above.
 
     Persons aged 18 or above holding the Registration Card for People with Disabilities issued by the Labour and Welfare Bureau with the type of disability of "intellectual disability" or "mental handicap", and who are recipients of either Comprehensive Social Security Assistance or Disability Allowance of the Social Welfare Department or medical fee waiver of the Hospital Authority are eligible for the project.
 
     The project details and application form as well as contact details of the NGO dental clinics are available at the DH's website (www.dh.gov.hk/english/main/main_ds/main_ds_dcp.html). Posters will be displayed and pamphlets will be distributed at the NGO dental clinics and rehabilitation service centres.

Over 1 800 vacancies on offer at Job Expo for Elderly and Rehabilitation Services

     The Labour Department (LD) will hold a large-scale job expo for elderly and rehabilitation services at MacPherson Stadium on July 18 and 19 to enhance job seekers' understanding of the industry and assist employers to recruit talent.

     A total of 40 organisations, offering over 1 800 vacancies, will participate in the two-day expo. The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as physiotherapist, occupational therapist, nurse, care worker, health worker, clerk, programme worker, customer service assistant, general service assistant, meal delivery worker and more. Job seekers can find more information on the LD's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk). Moreover, there are six training bodies introducing training course information.

     Around 80 per cent of the vacancies are full-time jobs. Most vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from $11,000 to $19,000. About 90 per cent of the vacancies require a Secondary Six education level or below. Around 81 per cent are open to job seekers without relevant work experience, and many vacancies are suitable for young people and secondary school graduates.

     Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. They can also make enquiries on employment services at the LD's counter at the venue.

     The job expo will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at MacPherson Stadium, 1/F, 38 Nelson Street, Mong Kok, Kowloon. Admission is free.




Red flags hoisted at several beaches

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (July 16) that due to big waves, red flags have been hoisted at Stanley Main Beach, Turtle Cove Beach, Shek O Beach and Big Wave Bay Beach in Southern District, Hong Kong Island; Kwun Yam Beach, Cheung Chau Tung Wan Beach, Upper Cheung Sha Beach and Tong Fuk Beach in Islands District; Trio Beach, Hap Mun Bay Beach, Silverstrand Beach, Clear Water Bay First Beach and Clear Water Bay Second Beach in Sai Kung District.  Beach-goers are advised not to swim at these beaches.




Task Force on Land Supply to hold third public forum

     The Task Force on Land Supply will hold the third public forum (New Territories West) to gauge public views on land supply options. Details and enrolment arrangements are as follows:
