Tenders invited for government property tenancy (1)

     The Government Property Agency is inviting tenders for the government property situated at No. 121 Peak Road for restaurant (excluding take-away services) purpose only.

     The tender notice was uploaded today (March 29) to the Agency’s website: www.gpa.gov.hk. Tender documents are available for collection at the Government Property Agency, 31/F, Revenue Tower, 5 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, during office hours (8.30am to 5.45pm from Mondays to Fridays). The documents can also be downloaded from the Agency’s website.

     Interested tenderers who wish to inspect the site should make prior appointment with the Government Property Agency by calling 2594 7697 on or before April 15 this year.
 
     Tenderers must submit their tenders by placing them in the Government Logistics Department Tender Box situated on the ground floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, before noon on May 2 this year. Late tenders will not be accepted. read more

Tenders invited for government property tenancy (2)

     The Government Property Agency is inviting tenders for a three-year tenancy of a portion of the ground floor of the Passenger Terminal Building (Public Transport Interchange), Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point, New Territories, for the purpose of installation and operation of one or two automated teller machine(s) only.

     The tender notice was uploaded today (March 29) to the Agency’s website: www.gpa.gov.hk. Tender documents are available for collection at the Government Property Agency, 31/F, Revenue Tower, 5 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, during office hours (8.30am to 5.45pm from Mondays to Fridays). The documents can also be downloaded from the Agency’s website.

     Interested tenderers who wish to attend the tender briefing should make prior appointment with the Government Property Agency by calling 2594 7654 on or before April 12 this year.

UN Sanctions (Somalia) Regulation 2019, UN Sanctions (Somalia) Regulation (Repeal) Regulation and UN Sanctions (Eritrea) Regulation (Repeal) Regulation gazetted

     The Government today (March 29) gazetted the United Nations Sanctions (Somalia) Regulation 2019 (the 2019 Somalia Regulation), the United Nations Sanctions (Somalia) Regulation (Repeal) Regulation (the Somalia Repeal Regulation) and the United Nations Sanctions (Eritrea) Regulation (Repeal) Regulation (the Eritrea Repeal Regulation), which came into operation today.
 
     “The 2019 Somalia Regulation implements all sanctions and exemptions imposed by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Somalia, including those extended by UNSC Resolution 2444, using modernised provisions to improve tidiness and readability of the legislation. Consequential to the making of the 2019 Somalia Regulation, the Somalia Repeal Regulation repeals the United Nations Sanctions (Somalia) Regulation. In addition, the Eritrea Repeal Regulation seeks to repeal the United Nations Sanctions (Eritrea) Regulation to implement the UNSC’s decision to lift the sanctions previously imposed on Eritrea,” a Government spokesperson said.
 
     The sanctions implemented under the 2019 Somalia Regulation include:
 

  • prohibition against the supply and carriage of any weapons or military equipment to Somalia or connected persons;
  • prohibition against the provision of assistance related to military activities to connected persons, and the provision of assistance related to military activities or to the supply, manufacture, maintenance or use of any prohibited goods to certain persons;
  • prohibition against the import of charcoal from Somalia;
  • prohibition against making available economic assets to certain persons or entities, or dealing with economic assets of such persons or entities; and
  • prohibition against the entry into or transit through the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region by certain persons.
