CSD video “A Coffee Story” features artiste Moses Chan talking about coffee and life (with photos)

The Correctional Services Department (CSD) today (June 16) released a video, “A Coffee Story”, featuring noted artiste Moses Chan who, by comparing life to making coffee, encouraged young persons in custody to keep trying, to learn from failure and to treasure family relationships during his visit to the training restaurant Café Rehapuccino newly established this year in Pik Uk Correctional Institution.

In the video, Chan demonstrates how to make coffee and discusses his experience. He said that being mindful, keeping on trying and understanding that failure is not the result but an experience are essential in making a perfect cup of coffee, just as they are in daily life.

Chan also shared his feelings as a father and expressed the hope that young persons in custody could cherish family love, in order to maintain family relationships and get through rough and hard times together.

The video also shows a Father’s Day event held at Café Rehapuccino, in which young persons in custody made coffee with latte art for their parents to show their gratitude by using the skills they had learnt.

The CSD has all along endeavoured to facilitate the rehabilitation of persons in custody, including providing various types of market-oriented vocational training and helping them to acquire recognised qualifications, to strengthen their employability.

Members of the public are invited to watch and share the video, which has been uploaded to the CSD YouTube Channel at www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lvpl2IGqez4&feature=youtu.be.
