Lifesaving services at some beaches resume

     Here is an item of interest to swimmers.

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department has announced that the lifesaving services at Golden Beach, Cafeteria Old Beach and Cafeteria New Beach in Tuen Mun District resumed today (June 20). The lifesaving services at the beaches were suspended earlier due to an insufficient number of lifeguards on duty.




Missing woman in Tuen Mun located

     A woman who went missing in Tuen Mun has been located.

     Chan Fung-ying, aged 57, was last seen in a shopping centre on Tuen Lee Street, Tuen Mun on April 26 morning. Her family made a report to Police on June 4.

     The woman turned up to Police to cancel the missing person report last night (June 19). She sustained no injuries and no suspicious circumstances were detected.




Red flag at Silver Mine Bay Beach lowered

     Here is an item of interest to swimmers.

    The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (June 20) that the Environmental Protection Department has classified the water quality at Silver Mine Bay Beach in Islands District as Grade 3, which means the water quality has improved and the beach is suitable for swimming. The red flag has been lowered.

     The red flag was hoisted at the beach earlier on due to the water quality being classified as Grade 4 and unsuitable for swimming.




Lifesaving services suspended at Cafeteria New Beach

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (June 20) that due to an insufficient number of lifeguards on duty, the lifesaving services at Cafeteria New Beach in Tuen Mun District is suspended until further notice.

     First aid services will be maintained at the beach.
