Speaking Volumes – a Miscellany of Artists’ Books is a free online event featuring live talks and discussion with four artists represented in abcD (artists’ book collection Dundee) taking place on Wednesday 9th December at 2.30pm.

The University of Dundee holds one of Scotland’s leading collections of artists’ books, housed in Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design. 

In this special live event, museum curator Matthew Jarron will introduce abcD and then four artists whose books are included in the collection will speak about their work and why the medium of artists’ books holds such a fascination for them. The artists are:

• David Faithfull (Scotland)
• Julie Johnstone (Scotland)
• Priya Pereira (India)
• Mark Addison Smith (USA)

There will be time at the end for Q&A with the audience.

Statement about the Domestic Abuse and Family Proceedings Bill – Long

Justice Minister Naomi Long said: “I remain committed to delivering legal protections to those facing domestic abuse but today I was forced to defer the further consideration stage of the Domestic Abuse and Family Proceedings Bill because of potentially significant financial implications that became apparent during discussions between my officials and the Department of Finance, as a result of amendments brought forward by the Justice Committee.

Riverside Drive (at Railway Station) – layby and taxi rank closed from Monday 7 December for 5 days for SGN service connection.

Blackness Road (at Rosefield Street) – off-peak temporary traffic lights Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 December for BT work.

Riverside Drive (Tay Rail Bridge to Tesco roundabout) – eastbound nearside lane closure from Wednesday 9 December for one week for new water connections.

Lower Pleasance (at Lochee Road) – closed overnight (9.00pm – 6.00am) from Monday 14 December for 3 nights for BT works. 

Lochee Road (at Polepark Road) – overnight temporary traffic lights (9.00pm – 6.00am) from Monday 14 December for 3 nights for BT work.

Thomson Street (Perth Road to Seafield Lane) – closed from Monday 14 December for 5 days for BT work.
