UK CMOs statement on the self-isolation period

Statement from all four UK Chief Medical Officers on a change to the self-isolation period for all domestic contacts and international arrivals.

This change will apply in Northern Ireland, England and Scotland from 00:01 on Monday 14 December. It already applies in Wales.




Contact tracing vital part of pandemic response – Ministers

Contact tracing is a cornerstone of our response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Ministers have said today.

The First Minister, deputy First Minister and Health Minister were speaking after they visited the Public Health Agency’s Contact Tracing Centre in Ballymena.

Following a tour of the tracing centre, the Ministers got a preview of a new public information campaign aimed at raising awareness of the new digital service.

Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon, has announced the appointment of Dr Gerard O’Hare as Chair for the Board of Warrenpoint Harbour Authority.




Getting things done – Ancrum Road and Lochee Road #dundeewestend

A number of residents recently contacted me about blocked road drains in parts of Ancrum Road and Lochee Road.    As one resident advised :

“I was driving up Lochee Road and Ancrum Road earlier this afternoon and the road gullies were all choked and the roads and footpaths were all severely flooded.”

I raised this with the City Council’s Roads Maintenance Partnership and have received the following helpful reply :

“The roads inspector has raised an order for five gullies to be cleared as soon as resources are available.”
