Getting things done – Lime Street #dundeewestend

Following residents’ complaints about a missing Lime Street street sign at the junction with Glenagnes Street, I took this up with City Council and have now received the following positive response :

“A replacement sign for Lime Street will be included in the next street name plate order.”


Temporary Traffic Order – West Park Road

From the City Council :

THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

THE DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL AS TRAFFIC AUTHORITY being satisfied that traffic on the road should be prohibited by reason of BT duct installation works being carried out HEREBY PROHIBIT the driving of any vehicle in West Park Road (northbound between Perth Road and St Johnswood Terrace), Dundee.

This notice comes into effect on Monday 3 September 2018 for 2 working days.

Pedestrian thoroughfare will be maintained.

Alternative routes for vehicles are available via Perth Road / Glamis Road / Blackness Road.

Getting things done – Dunmore Gardens #dundeewestend

Having had complaints from residents about the state of the road surface in Dunmore Gardens, I raised these concerns with the City Council’s Roads Maintenance Partnership and have now received the following positive response :

“An order has been raised by the Road Maintenance Partnership inspector for pothole repairs in Dunmore Gardens with a timescale for completion of approximately thirty days.”


Blether Tay-Gither – Storytelling in Dundee

Our August Blether will be tonight – Tuesday 28th August – at 7pm at The Butterfly Café, 28 Commercial Street.

The Theme this month is CARING FOR THE EARTH.

We will be joined by Anita Peggie, an apprentice storyteller from Fife  who will be sharing some tales with us but there will be plenty opportunity for others to share their own tales.

REPORT FOR WEST END WARD – WEEK COMMENCING MONDAY 27 AUGUST 2018

Riverside Drive (at Riverside Approach) – temporary traffic lights and Riverside Approach closed southbound for 2 weeks for gas main renewal.

Clayhills Drive – temporary traffic lights from Wednesday 29 August for one week for Scottish Water mains repair.

Forthcoming Roadworks

West Park Road (Perth Road to St Johnswood Terrace) – closed northbound on Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 September for BT duct installation.
