Dundee Money Action – Open Day

From Dundee Money Action :

You’re invited to join us for our second open day on Thursday 22nd November to hear more about the work of Dundee Money Action and how we are able to support your client base.

This event will take a similar format to our previous event held at the end of August, which was very well received by those who attended, with very positive feedback about the content and information provided about our service.

We are running four identical sessions over the course of the day – one hour sessions starting at 9.30am, 11am, 2pm, 3.30pm, which is designed to fit in around diary commitments within a working day. This event will be held at The Friary, Tullideph Road.

You will hear some case studies, find out more about the work of the project, the benefits to your client group, and how you can connect your clients to our workers.

This event is for anyone working directly with a client group in Dundee – eg support workers / NHS staff / front line workers / charity drop-in workers. We would welcome multiple attendees from the same organisation or team.

Dundee Money Action is an innovative partnership project working across Dundee, delivering ongoing support for Dundee citizens to enable them to be more in charge of their money:

• dealing with debts;

• building money management skills;

• looking at home energy use;

• assisting with benefits;

• and connecting people to support and interest groups amongst other activities.

Forthcoming Roadworks

Bellfield Street (southbound from Blackness Road to Hawkhill) – closed from Monday 26 November for 2 weeks for water connection works.

THE DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL AS TRAFFIC AUTHORITY being satisfied that traffic on the road should be prohibited by reason of crane lifting works being carried out HEREBY PROHIBIT the driving of any vehicle in Park Place (between Old Hawkhill and Smalls Lane), Dundee

This notice comes into effect on Saturday 17th November 2018 for 1 day.

Pedestrian thoroughfare will be maintained.

Alternative routes are available via Old Hawkhill / Smalls Lane.

Cappuccino Concert at the Wighton Heritage Centre

Saturday 17th November at 11am (doors open 10.30am) at the Wighton Heritage Centre in the Central Library brings us the wonderful songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Alan Reid.

Founder member and mainstay of the internationally renowned Battlefield Band for more than 40 years, Alan was the first to use keyboards as an integral part of a traditional folk band. The depth of his melodic playing and punctuated rhythms have so defined Celtic music that his influence can be heard in many of today’s younger generation of Celtic musicians.

Alan is also a prolific and fluid songwriter, his compositions full of imagery and stories of common folk and historical figures as well. As interesting and moving as the stories are, his musical compositions leave the listener with a strong, memorable and very singable melody.

Alan has a busy touring schedule, with stints in the USA, Germany and Australia in the past few months, so we are highly delighted that we can welcome him again.
