Joint statement on UK Geoenergy Observatories open data

The UK Geoenergy Observatories will be world-leading research facilities, opening up our understanding of the world beneath our feet as never before. Based in Cardiff, Cheshire and Glasgow, they will be scientific test beds in three locations that have very different geological characteristics.



Urban geology expert group established to focus on urban challenges

An urban geology expert group (UGEG) has been formally established under the EuroGeoSurveys. The group aims to develop a cohort of multidisciplinary scientists focused on urban challenges.

The Eskdalemuir Observatory, a centre for geophysical and meteorological measurement that has been collecting data for over 100 years, has now received special status from the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO).
