Police are investigating an attempted murder and suicide case in Sau Mau Ping happened in the small hours today (September 8), in which a 56-year-old man died.
At about 1.20am, Police received reports from residents that some were fighting inside a unit in Tat Chui House, Po Tat Estate.
Police officers sped to the scene. A 42-year-old woman was found lying inside a unit in Tat Chui House, Po Tat Estate. Officers later found that a man was lying on the podium of Tat Chui House, Po Tat Estate. He was suspected to have fallen from height. The woman was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in semi-conscious state. The man was certified dead at scene.
Initial investigation revealed that the man had a dispute with his 42-year-old wife earlier, and the man assaulted the woman with sharp objects. The man later jumped from a unit.
Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of the deceased.
