Appointments to Council of Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts
The Chief Executive has appointed Mr Edward Cheng Wai-sun as Chairman, Mr Douglas So Cheung-tak as Deputy Chairman and Mr Charles Yang Chuen-liang as Treasurer of the Council of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) for a period of two years from January 1, 2022.
The Chief Executive has also appointed the following persons as members of the Council of the HKAPA for a period of two years from January 1, 2022:

The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Caspar Tsui, expressed his heartfelt thanks to the outgoing Chairman, Professor Stephen Chow Chun-kay, for his invaluable contributions over the past six years. He also expressed gratitude to outgoing members Dr Anthony Chow Wing-kin, Ms Yvonne Shing Mo-han, Mr Leon Ko Sai-tseung, Ms Anna Kwong Sum-yee and Mr Alvin Yiu Cheuk-man for their valuable advice tendered during their term of service.
Under the chairmanship of Professor Chow, the HKAPA has continued to strive for excellence and reached new heights. In the QS World University Rankings, the HKAPA ranked first in Asia in the Performing Arts category three years in a row from 2019 to 2021, and within the global top 10 in 2020 and 2021. Professor Chow has played an important role of securing the HKAPA, the only tertiary education institution dedicated to nurturing performing arts talents, the leading status in the region.
