Ms Cordelia Chung, Mr Kent Ho, Dr Kim Mak and Ms Angel Ng have been re-appointed as board members of the HKSTPC for a period of two years with effect from the same date.
The Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Mr Alfred Sit, said, "As the organisation that manages Hong Kong's flagship technology infrastructure, the HKSTPC, under the guidance of the Board of Directors, has been promoting the development of innovation and technology (I&T) and re-industrialisation in Hong Kong through developing new and upgrading existing facilities, introducing measures to support technology enterprises, and attracting and nurturing I&T talents. The HKSTPC is also developing a number of I&T infrastructures to provide further support to the sector, including Phase 2 of the Science Park Expansion Programme, the Advanced Manufacturing Centre in the Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate, and the Microelectronics Centre in the Yuen Long Industrial Estate. We are confident that with their devotion, extensive experience and professional knowledge, members of the Board will continue to guide the Corporation to fulfil its public mission effectively and enhance Hong Kong's position as the I&T hub in the region."
The HKSTPC, which began operation in 2001, manages the Hong Kong Science Park, three industrial estates and the InnoCentre. It provides a comprehensive range of services to cater for the needs of the industry at various stages, including nurturing technology start-ups through its incubation programmes, providing facilities and services for applied research and development activities, and providing land and relevant facilities for industry.
