The Government announced today (January 3) that Mr Ng Wai-man, Deputy Director of Accounting Services, will take up the post of Director of Accounting Services on January 16, 2025, to succeed Ms Susanna Cheung Sau-lan who will proceed on pre-retirement leave on the same day.
Commenting on the appointment of Mr Ng, the Secretary for the Civil Service, Mrs Ingrid Yeung, said, "Mr Ng has proven management and leadership skills, as well as rich professional knowledge and extensive operational experience. I am confident that he will be able to lead the Treasury to meet the challenges ahead."
On the retirement of Ms Cheung, Mrs Yeung said, "Ms Cheung has served with professionalism and commitment in the civil service for 28 years. As Director of Accounting Services, Ms Cheung has made sustained efforts in enhancing the efficiency and service quality of the Treasury. I wish Ms Cheung a fulfilling and happy retirement."

Ms Cheung joined the Government as Treasury Accountant in April 1996 and was promoted to Chief Treasury Accountant in September 2011, to Assistant Director of Accounting Services in June 2015 and to Deputy Director of Accounting Services in July 2018. She has been Director of Accounting Services since October 2021.

Mr Ng joined the Government as Accounting Officer II in March 1996. He was appointed as Treasury Accountant in April 2001 and was promoted to Chief Treasury Accountant in August 2017, to Assistant Director of Accounting Services in July 2020 and to Deputy Director of Accounting Services in August 2022.
