The Pilot Scheme was launched in December 2017 with funding from the CCF for a duration of three years to provide cervical cancer screening and preventive education for eligible low-income women. The DH is the overall administrator and co-ordinator of this Pilot Scheme. Members of the public may visit the Community Care Fund website for eligibility criteria, application procedures and details of the Pilot Scheme.
Since 2004, the Government launched the territory-wide Cervical Screening Programme in collaboration with healthcare professionals in the public, private and non-government sectors to encourage women aged 25 to 64 who have ever had sex to receive regular cervical cancer screening. After the end of this Pilot Scheme, eligible women could receive cervical cancer screening through their family doctors, general practitioners, gynaecologists, non-government organisations or Maternal and Child Health Centres (MCHCs) and Woman Health Centres (WHCs) of the DH. For information on locations and opening hours of MCHCs and WHCs, please refer to www.fhs.gov.hk/english/ for details.
