Appeal for information on woman died in Sham Shui Po fatal traffic accident
Police are anxious to locate the next-of-kin of a woman who died in a fatal traffic accident in Sham Shui Po today (September 30).
At about 11.45am, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 49-year-old man was travelling along Yen Chow Street northbound. When approaching the junction of Yen Chow Street and Cheung Sha Wan Road, it reportedly knocked down the woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining multiple injuries, the woman was rushed to Caritas Medical Centre in unconscious state and was certified dead at 12.19pm today.
Aged about 70 to 80, the woman was about 1.5 metres tall. She was wearing a blue and white shirt, black trousers and carrying a white bag. No identity document was found in her possession.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
