The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
The Duchess of Kent Children's Hospital at Sandy Bay (DKCH) and Hong Kong Children's Hospital (HKCH) have thoughtfully organised an array of Christmas activities for paediatric patients, delivering heartfelt gifts filled with love and companionship.
Healthcare workers at the DKCH dressed up as Santa Claus, riding in cartoon character-themed vehicles for a parade, to visit the hospitalised children. The hospital held a party in the garden and arranged magic, drum and bicycle stunts performances. There were also group games and Christmas carol singing. The healthcare workers distributed gifts and arranged a festive Christmas meal for the children, bringing them a joyful Christmas day.
The HKCH also arranged an array of Christmas activities for patients and families to spread the festive spirit. The highlight was a big Christmas party held at the hospital lobby, featuring exciting interactive show and games by the Police Dog Unit of the Hong Kong Police Force on Christmas Eve. On Christmas day, a group of healthcare staff visited the wards to surprise hospitalised children with carols and gifts to enjoy the joyful season together.
We wish for peace and joy to always surround the children, and we hope for their swift recovery and good health.
