The Government announced today (October 28) the appointment of Mr Peter Yan King-shun as the Director-General of the Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises (OASES), following an open recruitment exercise. Mr Yan will assume office tomorrow (October 29).
Commenting on Mr Yan's appointment, the Financial Secretary, Mr Paul Chan, said, "Mr Yan possesses rich experience and extensive knowledge in the field of information technology and has frequently communicated and collaborated with stakeholders from strategic industries. His remarkable leadership and strategic vision were evident during his tenure as the Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited. He has also accumulated significant experience in public service. I am confident that Mr Yan will lead OASES in attracting more strategic enterprises to Hong Kong, thereby contributing to the city's innovation and technology development as well as its economic upgrading and transformation."

Mr Yan has over 39 years of experience in the technology industry. He was the Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited from 2018 to 2024. Prior to his tenure at Cyberport, Mr Yan was the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of SUNeVision Holdings Limited and held various senior management positions in large consulting and information technology services companies.
