The delegation of the Legislative Council Panel on Transport will depart for Shanghai and Hangzhou tomorrow (September 10) to conduct a four-day duty visit.
The objectives of the duty visit are for Members to better understand the latest situation of Yangtze River Delta Region regarding the development of smart mobility, smart traffic management, development and application of autonomous vehicles, as well as the adoption of electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles in public transport routes. During the visit, Members will exchange views with representatives of relevant departments of municipal governments on the development of smart mobility and new energy transportation in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Hangzhou.
The delegation will visit the following places and organizations from September 10 to 13:
- Shanghai Lingang Hydrogen-powered Medium-capacity T3 Line
- Shanghai Lingang Special Area of the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone
- Shanghai Baidu's Apollo Park
- Shanghai New Energy Vehicle and Intelligent Connected Vehicle Information Centre
- Intelligent holographic intersection in Jiading District, Shanghai
- Shanghai Jiading Nanxiang NIO Delivery Center
- Hongqiao comprehensive transportation hub
- Shanghai Urban Operation (Group) Company Limited
- City Brain Operation Command Center in Hangzhou
- Geely Auto Group Headquarters
The delegation is led by the Chairman of the Panel, Dr Chan Han-pan. Other participating members include the Deputy Chairman of the Panel, Mr Dominic Lee, and Panel members Mr Michael Tien, Mr Frankie Yick, Mr Leung Man-kwong, Mr Chan Siu-hung, Mr Chan Hok-fung, and Mr Yim Kong; as well as non-Panel members Mr Holden Chow and Mr Lau Kwok-fan. The Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Mr Lam Sai-hung, will lead a government delegation to join the duty visit.
