The Buildings Department approved 12 building plans in December, with six on Hong Kong Island, one in Kowloon and five in the New Territories.
Of the approved plans, seven were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, two were for commercial developments, and three were for community services development.
In the same month, consent was given for works to start on 11 building projects which, when completed, will provide 66 519 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use involving 1 767 units, and 68 176 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of superstructure works for six building projects.
The department also issued 20 occupation permits, with three on Hong Kong Island, seven in Kowloon and 10 in the New Territories.
Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 5 450 sq m involving 128 units, and 55 480 sq m was for non-domestic use.
The declared cost of new buildings completed in December totalled about $2 billion.
In addition, seven demolition consents involving seven building structures were issued.
The department received 2 431 reports about unauthorised building works (UBWs) in December and issued 923 removal orders on UBWs.
