The Financial Secretary, Mr Paul Chan, will depart for Marrakech, Morocco, tonight (October 11) to attend the 2023 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) as a member of the Chinese delegation.
The Annual Meetings bring together ministers of finance and development, representatives of central banks, key members of the private sector and non-governmental organisations and academics from around the world to discuss issues of global concern, including the world economic outlook and development.
While at the Annual Meetings, Mr Chan will call on the senior management of the IMF and the WBG and officials from governments of participating countries, as well as key players in the finance industry.
Mr Chan will return to Hong Kong in the evening on October 15. During his absence, the Deputy Financial Secretary, Mr Michael Wong, will be the Acting Financial Secretary.
