Fatal traffic accident in Kwun Tong

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Kwun Tong this morning (August 16) in which a 21-year-old man died.

     At about 6.20am, a private car driven by the 21-year-old man was travelling along Cha Kwo Ling Road towards Yau Tong. When approaching Lam Tin Interchange, the private car reportedly lost control and rammed into a kerb.

     The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and rescued by firemen. Sustaining multiple injuries, he was sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 9.06am. A 22-year-old male passenger and a 26-year-old male passenger in the private car sustained head and chest injuries respectively. They were sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state. A 22-year-old male passenger sustained hand injuries and was sent to United Christian Hospital in unconscious state. Another 20-year-old male passenger sustained slight injuries and was sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital in conscious state.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East is underway.
