â€‹An exhibition entitled the "Hong Kong in Miniature" Exhibition @Seoul 2022, which showcases 40 miniature models that capture the uniqueness and vibrancy of Hong Kong, opened in Seoul, Korea, today (September 24).

Created by a team of over 100 miniature artists, architectural modelists and animators in Hong Kong, the miniature models depict Hong Kong's unique culture, cherished traditions, cityscape and aspects of daily life in different eras. The exhibits are presented under four themes, namely "Daily Life", "Tradition", "Harbour and Bay" and Cityscape". Highlights of the exhibits include a 1:750 model of Hong Kong's world-renowned Victoria Harbour with an interactive element that places pictures of visitors' faces over the city.

The Acting Principal Hong Kong Economic and Trade Representative (Tokyo), Miss Winsome Au, said she hoped that the miniatures would help the Korean public see Hong Kong's developments over the past 25 years after its return to the motherland.

"The exhibition not only showcases the unique attractions of Hong Kong as a cosmopolitan city, but also demonstrates that Hong Kong is full of creativity and character, and is a place where the East blends with the West," she said.

She added that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced yesterday (September 23) that the compulsory hotel quarantine requirement for people arriving Hong Kong from overseas places, including Korea, will be lifted starting from September 26. She hoped that more Korean people would visit Hong Kong soon.

Organised by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Tokyo) in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the exhibition aims to promote Hong Kong's unique culture among the Korean public and enhance the city's attractiveness as a travel destination.

The exhibition is being held at COEX, an exhibition and convention venue in Seoul, until October 3. Demonstration sessions on how to create miniatures will also be held during weekends to promote cultural exchanges.
