Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan today (May 22) in which a 43-year-old man died.
At about 0.58am, a bus driven by the 43-year-old man was travelling along Lai Po Road towards the container terminals. When approaching outside 100 Hing Wah Street West, it reportedly collided with a stationary coach.
The bus driver was trapped inside the compartment and rescued by firemen. Sustaining head and multiple body injuries, the man was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 2.55am. The 51-year-old coach driver suffered from hands and feet injuries and was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital in conscious state.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
