Police are investigating a murder case in Central on March 9 evening in which a 70-year-old man sustained serious injuries.
At about 8.13pm, Police received a report that a man was injured and collapsed in a shopping mall on 88 Queensway.
Police officers sped to the scene and found the 70-year-old man lying unconsciously on the ground. Sustaining head injuries, he was rushed to Queen Mary Hospital in unconscious state and has remained in critical condition after undergoing surgery yesterday (March 10).
A 23-year-old man in suspected connection with the case was arrested for attempted murder in Lantau District yesterday. His motive of the attack is to be ascertained. He is being detained for enquiries.
Active investigation by the Regional Crime Unit of Hong Kong Island is underway.
