The Education Bureau (EDB) said today (March 5) that a staff member of the Secretary for Education's Office has tested positive for COVID-19 with a rapid test.

The officer is the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary for Education. He does not need to have contact with the public in his daily work and has no recent travel history. He wore masks and followed relevant disease prevention measures at work, and last performed duties yesterday (March 4).

The Secretary for Education, Mr Kevin Yeung, has been taking COVID-19 rapid tests every day and the results are all negative.

The EDB has acted in accordance with the advice of the Centre for Health Protection to arrange thorough cleansing and disinfection on the floor concerned and all the staff working on that floor to undergo tests.
