Fatal traffic accident in Chai Wan

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Chai Wan this afternoon (March 4) in which a 66-year-old man died.

     At about 12.02pm, a light goods vehicles (LGV) driven by a 24-year-old man was travelling westbound along Kornhill Road. When approaching near 2 Kornhill Road, it reportedly knocked down the 66-year-old man who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining serious multiple injuries, the man was rushed to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 12.44pm.

     The LGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He has been released on bail and is required to report back to Police in early April.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island is underway.
