Hospital Authority announces staff members confirmed or preliminarily confirmed as COVID-19 cases

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     The Hospital Authority today (February 13) announced that the following staff members are confirmed or preliminarily confirmed for COVID-19 infection:
 

Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital A doctor, a nurse and a physiotherapist
Anne Black General Out-patient Clinic A supporting staff member
Queen Mary Hospital Three nurses and a supporting staff member
Tung Wah Hospital A nurse
Tsan Yuk Hospital An administrative staff member
Hong Kong Children's Hospital Two nurses and an administrative staff member
Kwong Wah Hospital A nurse and a phlebotomist
Kowloon Hospital A nurse
Our Lady of Maryknoll Hospital A doctor
Queen Elizabeth Hospital A nurse and a supporting staff member
Tseung Kwan O Hospital A supporting staff member
United Christian Hospital A nurse and two administrative staff members
Caritas Medical Centre A doctor and a supporting staff member
Yan Chai Hospital A nurse
North District Hospital A dispenser
Prince of Wales Hospital Four nurses, a medical technologist and a supporting staff member
Tuen Mun Hospital A doctor, a nurse, an administrative staff member and three supporting staff members
Tin Shui Wai (Tin Yip Road) Community Health Centre A nurse

 
     Hospitals concerned have conducted contact tracing as required and arranged cleaning for disinfection. All related staff members had worn appropriate personal protective equipment at work. No patient has been identified as close contact so far. Since some of the above-mentioned staff members had been eating or chatting, etc. with other staff members without wearing masks, 23 staff members have been identified as close contacts. Arrangement will be made for them to be quarantined and tested as required.
 
     In light of the deteriorating epidemic situation, the HA again reminds its staff to minimise social activities and avoid having meals with other staff members. Staff members should also wear appropriate personal protective equipment at work.
