The Home Affairs Department (HAD) today (February 10) said that an Official Languages Officer II of the Tai Po District Council Secretariat and a Works Supervisor II of the Islands District Office tested preliminarily positive for COVID-19.
The two staff members who tested preliminarily positive have no recent travel history. They both last performed duties on February 7. They underwent temperature checks before work and their body temperatures were normal. When performing duties, they wore surgical masks and did not have contact with the public.
The HAD has arranged colleagues working at the same premises of the two staff members to undergo COVID-19 tests. A thorough cleansing and disinfection at the premises concerned has also been arranged according to the guidelines of the Centre for Health Protection (CHP).
The HAD is highly concerned about the COVID-19 epidemic and will continue to maintain close liaison with the CHP. Staff are reminded to pay attention to personal hygiene and to stay vigilant. They should seek medical advice immediately if feeling unwell.
