The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
The spokesman for Queen Mary Hospital (QMH) made a public appeal to help locate a missing patient today (September 16).
A 52-year-old female patient was discharged home today with the escort by Non-emergency Ambulance Transfer Service (NEATS) of the hospital. NEATS staff left the patient outside the main entrance of her residence. Later in the evening, the relative of the patient called and informed the hospital that the patient had not yet returned home. The relative subsequently called the Police for assistance.
QMH is very concerned about the incident and will cooperate with the police for the search. The hospital will also look into the escort arrangement by NEATS staff and the communication with the relative.
The patient is about 1.65 meters tall, medium body build with black and short hair. She was wearing clothes in dark color when she left the hospital. The hospital appeals to the public to contact Western Police Station at 3661 1618 if they know the whereabouts of the patient.
