“The Gallants” brings to life stories of Chinese heroes

     The International Arts Carnival will present the theatrical production, "The Gallants", (conducted in Cantonese) in mid-August to re-enact the adventures of leading figures in Chinese classical literature.
 
     Produced by Class 7A Drama Group, the play depicts stories of Chinese gallants, including Hong Xiannu, Guo Jie and Dadao Wang Wu from classical works such as Shiji (Records of the Grand Historian) and Tang Chuanqi (Legends of the Tang Dynasty), through lively storytelling that celebrates gallant conduct such as bravery and righteousness.
 
     "The Gallants" will be performed by Ben So, Chau Ka-fai, Leung Ho-pong, Ivy Lau and Kitty Wong, with Yatyau as artistic director and playwright, Sit Hoi-fai as director, and Hung Chit-wah as assistant director and movement coach.
 
     The production will be staged at the Theatre of Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre at 7.30pm on August 13, at 4pm on August 14, and at 11.30am and 4pm on August 15. Tickets priced at $140, $220, and $280 are now available at URBTIX (www.urbtix.hk).
