Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Wan Chai today (July 28) in which a 69-year-old man died.
At 8.11am, a private car driven by a 39-year-old foreign man was travelling along Amoy Street southbound. When approaching 183 Queen's Road East, it reportedly knocked down the 69-year-old man who was crossing the road.
Sustaining multiple injuries, the man was rushed to Ruttonjee Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 9.47am.
The private car driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island is underway.
