"Launching of Olympics Live Zone in support of Tokyo 2020 Olympics" will be held on the opening day of the Games from 5pm to 7pm at the Secondary Hall of Kowloon Park Sports Centre. To show support for Hong Kong athletes to strive for excellence in Olympics, the event will feature sports demonstration and play-in of fencing and cycling, as well as experience sharing by the athletes and interactive games to cheer for Hong Kong athletes. In view of the epidemic situation, LCSD will implement social distancing measures at the venue and keep the number of participants to less than 100 in order to protect their health. If the number of participants reaches the limit, members of the public may need to wait patiently or tour the exhibition panels about the Olympic Games.

Apart from joining the event in person, members of the public can also take part at home via live webcast on "LCSD Plusss" Facebook page or 101 Academy of LCSD Edutainment Channel to get ready for the Olympic Games.

The LCSD will set up Olympics Live Zone at designated sports centres in 18 districts to broadcast the Games' competitions from July 23 to August 8. The Olympics Live Zone will be open from 7pm on July 23, and from 8am to 11pm between July 24 and August 8. Members of the public are welcome to visit and watch the live broadcast and highlights of competitions. Exhibition panels about Hong Kong athletes participating in the Games will also be displayed at the venues. Locations of the Olympics Live Zone are set out at Annex.

To encourage the public to take part in sports while having fun in watching Olympics events, a series of Learning Sports 101 videos were uploaded in LCSD Edutainment Channel. The videos featured introduction and demonstration of sports skills by elite athletes, including a number of Olympic sports. More videos such as fencing, sailing, cycling, karate and rowing will be released in phases.
