The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) has launched a free online sand painting and music show, "ONYX", by local sand painting artist Hoi Chiu and music composer and performer Patrick Ng. All three episodes are now available for viewing online.
The "ONYX" series tells the story of a young girl named Bella and her father, who is working on a boat. Bella is eagerly awaiting her father's return from the sea for her birthday celebration. Night falls and a storm is coming in. Her father still hasn't returned. Bella becomes anxious and decides to wait by the sea, but is swept into the raging waters by a huge wave. As she sinks in the ocean, her necklace with the amulet "ONYX", given to her by her father, transforms into a giant bird and saves her. Carrying Bella on its back, the black bird ventures into the depths of the sea in search of her father's sunken boat, and brings them both back home safely.
