A 43-year-old female police officer who is posted to the Regional Crime Prevention Officer, New Territories South Region was preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19. She felt unwell on December 7 and sought medical treatment at a clinic. Preliminary results released yesterday (December 9) showed that she tested positive for COVID-19.
After further enquiry, it was revealed that the police officer concerned participated in leaflet distribution in a school in Kowloon City on November 26. The officer concerned wore face mask throughout the event and the school concerned was informed immediately afterwards. Police will maintain close liaison with the Department of Health and the school concerned.
